2 Dates Through Jan 18, 2020

ABOUT ABOUT

To help animals affected by the Australian wildfires, we'll be hosting 'Craft for Australia' at our Narberth Studio on Friday, January 17th from 6:30PM-8:30PM AND ** DUE TO RESPONSE AND SIZE OF OUR STUDIO, A SECOND EVENT HAS BEEN ADDED ON JANUARY 18th AT 12 NOON. Click the dropdown for options.**

Across the world, thousands of crafters have been sending knitted protective gear for the native wildlife.

We invite you and your family to join us to make hand-sewn & knit pouches for the marsupial animals such as possums, koalas and wombats that have been separated from their mothers.

If you're unable to attend the event, but would like to donate items, please email us at programs@thehandworkstudiocom to coordinate a drop off.

*Disclaimer* We take safety as our highest priority.  This event will be using scissors, pins, needles, sewing machines and knitting needles, and we will teach all participants how to use our tools properly. By signing up for this event you understand that you (and if you have minors) will potentially be using these tools.  Our recommendation is that children ages 4+ can participate in the creating with an adult or guardian directly supporting. Younger children are welcome but must be fully supervised by an adult.  All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult too.

If you are interested in donating to help the wildlife in Australia, please go to WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue Organization WIRES. They also have amazing resources on how to teach your children about wildlife with coloring and education pages and animal fact sheets. https://www.wires.org.au/kids-pages

We hope you will join us in spreading awareness of the plight of over 1 billion animals affected by the bush wildfires in Australia.
